Getting Started

Welcome to ForsakenRO! This guide will walk you through everything you need to start your adventure.

All that stands between you and your perfect RO server is a download, but don't worry — we've made it as stress-free and convenient for you as possible.

Quick Setup

Follow these steps to get playing as quickly as possible:

  1. Download the Client
  2. Install the Game
  3. Create an Account
  4. Login and Play

Step 1: Download the Client

Download Links

Download the ForsakenRO client: Download from ForsakenRO Website

The installer includes:

  • Ragnarok Online base game
  • All ForsakenRO custom content
  • ForsakenRO Patcher
  • Pre-configured settings

Step 2: Install the Game

Small Patch Installation

If you already have Ragnarok Online files, you just need the small patch:

  1. Download the Small Installer from the downloads page

  2. Run the Installer

  3. Launch the downloaded file

  4. If it requests permissions, click "Yes" on the dialog

  5. Select Install Location

  6. Click "Next" on the first screen
  7. Choose the path where you want to install (should be your existing RO folder)

  8. Default is Program Files, but you may change it by clicking "..." button

  9. Let the Installation Begin

  10. Click "Next" to see installation confirmation
  11. Click "Start" to begin installation

  12. Wait for "ForsakenRO Small Patcher has been successfully installed" message

  13. Open the Patcher and Start Playing

  14. Click "Exit" to close the installer
  15. ForsakenRO Patcher will launch automatically
  16. Let it patch if needed
  17. Click "Start" button to launch the game

Installation Tips

  • Install to a folder without special characters or spaces
  • Avoid installing to Program Files (may cause permission issues)
  • Make sure you have at least 5GB of free disk space
  • Extract to a simple path (e.g., C:ForsakenRO)

Setup Configuration

Before playing for the first time:

  1. Go to your RO folder
  2. Open the setup application by double clicking it
  3. At the top bar select your graphics card
  4. Select the resolution you want (Always pick one lower or equal to your current resolution, not higher)
  5. Press OK
  6. Right click your setup application and click run as administrator
  7. Select the resolution again
  8. Press OK
  9. Start the game by double clicking FkenRO.exe

Windows 8/10/11 Users

Disable full screen mode at the setup as full screen mode doesn't cooperate well with newer Windows versions.

Step 3: Create an Account

Account Creation

Create your in-game account at the Control Panel.

  1. Visit the ForsakenRO Control Panel
  2. Click "Register" to create a new account
  3. Fill in the required information
  4. Verify your email address
  5. Set up your account security settings

Account Security

  • Use a unique password
  • Never share your account credentials
  • Keep your email up to date for account recovery

Step 4: Login and Play

  1. Launch FkenRO.exe from your game folder (or use the patcher's Start button)
  2. Enter your username and password
  3. Select a character slot and create your first character
  4. Start playing!
